ALL THE NATURE THAT SURROUNDS KLEINBURG

Kleinburg features some of the best hiking and biking trails in the province. Come and explore the Humber River Trails and the William Granger Greenway!

Humber River Trails

The Humber Portage was a major portage route in Ontario, linking Lake Ontario with Lake Simcoe and the northern Great Lakes. The Trail runs from Toronto up the eastern bank of the Humber River and splits in Woodbridge, with one fork crossing the east branch of the Humber and going up the west side of the river to Kleinburg where it re-crosses the river.

The Humber River Trails combine the best of urban nature trails with land conservation and water management practices. Linked to the Canadian McMichael Art Collection and Boyd Conservation Area, the trail allows visitors to explore recreational and educational facilities, the region’s natural habitats, and the historic aboriginal trade route known as the Toronto Carrying-Place Trail.

The Humber River  has been designated as a Canadian Heritage River.

William Granger Greenway

William Granger Greenway is a municipally maintained walking/biking trail. The trail is mostly flat with a few inclines making it great for hikers and cyclers.

You can start your hike or bike ride at the Boyd Conservation Area in Woodbridge or at Bindertwine Park in Kleinburg. A round trip hike would take close to four hours or you can bike it in less than an hour.

There is also a great deal of public art along the trail, including the abutment murals by local artist Stefano Bove and the amazing sculptures by Winnipeg artist Ivan Eyre on the McMichael Canadian Art Collection grounds.
