The McMichael Canadian Art Collection
Offering visitors a unique and truly Canadian experience, the McMichael Gallery accurately displays Canada’s art, its people, their cultures and history. The Gallery’s permanent collection consists of nearly 6,000 pieces of art created by Tom Thomson, the Group of Seven, their contemporaries, and First Nations, Métis, Inuit and other Canadian artists. Through a network of outdoor paths and hiking trails, visitors can explore the newly installed Sculpture Garden as well as the unique McMichael Cemetery; gallery founders Robert and Signe McMichael as well as six Group of Seven members have been laid to rest at the site.
The Canadian Heritage Art Gallery is a prominent fine art gallery, located in the heart of Kleinburg. The gallery showcases several renowned Canadian artists, including traditional Canadiana paintings created by the Group of Seven and their contemporaries. The gallery also specializes in 19th century European classics. Fine bronze sculpture and Inuit carvings are also a significant part of the gallery.
